FAQ
Where is Galactic Trading located?
We're at 1122 W Thorndale Ave, Chicago, IL 60660, in Edgewater. We're directly under the Thorndale stop on the CTA Red Line, and a short walk from Andersonville and Uptown.
What are your hours?
We're open daily from 12pm to 8pm, seven days a week. The play tables are available the entire time we're open.
What card games do you carry?
Pokémon, One Piece, and Magic: The Gathering are our mainstays, with singles and sealed product including booster boxes, elite trainer boxes, and collection boxes. We also stock sleeves, deck boxes, binders, toploaders, and playmats to go with them.
Do you carry other card games?
Those three are our main lines right now, but the range keeps growing. If there's something you play, ask us in the shop, give us a call, or drop us a DM. Player requests are how we decide what to bring in next.
Do you sell anything besides cards?
Plenty. Alongside the cards we carry blind boxes, collectible figures, indie artist prints, and a rotating mix of hobby goods. There's usually something here for people who don't play at all.
Can I use the play tables?
Yes! Our tables are available to anyone during store hours, with no purchase and no sign-up required.
Do you buy card collections?
Yes, we buy, sell, and trade. Bring your collection in during store hours for an in-person evaluation. No appointment needed, and you can take cash or store credit.
I've never played before. Is this place for me?
Absolutely. Come by, say you're new, and we'll help you find your footing and get you set up with what you need. Beginner-friendly play nights and learn-to-play sessions are on the way too.
